Well, read that Akshay Kumar has recently turned down a film of Yash Raj Films, the script of which was personally narrated by Aditya Chopra to Akshay Kumar. And the result? Akshay not shown in Tashan promos!!! After 4 hits last year (Heyy Babyy, Namastey London, Bhool Bhulaiyaa & Welcome) and his per film rate crossing Rs. 20 crore now, Akshay surely is on his career highs these days, but has he really reached such heights that he can afford to refuse a YRF banner film?
After welcome, Akshay’s fans were eagerly awaiting his action packed role in Yash Raj’s new film Tashan, but looks like he has not been given that much exposure in Tashan promos, well maybe the power team Chopras are just giving it back to Akshay or maybe they are trying to encash the hot-cake duo Saif & Kareena!
2007 was surely a great year for Akshay Kumar but even after 4 hits in 2007 is he considered as the super-star of bollywood? Trade Analysts surely don’t thing so. As per them, Akshay Kumar is far behind Shah Rukh Khan in the race for superstardom. Despite his hiked rate card and box office bang, I also personally think that Akshay is still not in the leagues of Aamir & Shahrukh kinda super stars. Yeah he is surely known as the hit-machine & Akshay’s movies are surely making big bucks at box office but has Akshay ever given films like Chak De, Taare Zameen Per or Rang De Basanti? I think it’s high time that our akki should focus on quality of his work than quantity!
